Founded in 2005 by actor and filmmaker Michael Cory Davis, Journey Film Group creates narrative films, documentaries, and original content for clients and creative partners. Our work spans social impact storytelling, psychological thrillers, and character-driven drama, with a shared focus on stories that connect with audiences.

A film can entertain, challenge an assumption, introduce a new perspective, or give an organization a more compelling way to communicate. We begin with the story’s purpose and the people it needs to reach.
For our original projects, that means developing characters and ideas with something to say. For clients and collaborators, it means shaping their vision into content with a clear voice, emotional substance, and a strong visual identity.
Meet the founder
Michael Cory Davis

Michael Cory Davis is an actor, filmmaker, author, and advocate whose career connects entertainment with public engagement. He founded Journey Film Group to create work that reflects the complexity of human experience—from personal relationships and ambition to exploitation, resilience, and change.
His directorial debut, Svetlana’s Journey, was inspired by the true story of a trafficked Bulgarian girl and won Best Short Subject at the 2005 Hollywood Film Festival. The film helped launch an international advocacy journey, followed by Cargo: Innocence Lost, a documentary examining sex trafficking in the United States.
His work also includes The Conversation, which opens discussion around consent and personal responsibility, and 5150, a female-led horror/thriller. His published novel, Trapped: City of Angels, is in development for the screen.
Alongside his independent projects, Michael has created content for Lionsgate and AMC connected to seasons two through five of Mad Men. His acting credits include The Lincoln Lawyer, The Upshaws, and For Colored Girls.
Michael is also the founder of Break Free Win, a personal-development platform that extends his work into books, audiobooks, and practical educational content. Through titles including Life: Break Free Win, Life Commandments, and Break Free from Bad Moods, along with the Brain Food video series, he explores emotional awareness, self-mastery, and the patterns that shape how we think, feel, and live. This work shares a common thread with his filmmaking: helping people examine their lives, question inherited narratives, and recognize their capacity for change.

The work beyond the screen.
Michael’s filmmaking led to the founding of Artists United for Social Justice, an organization dedicated to creating and distributing media that raises awareness of social injustice.
Through film screenings, educational programs, and public conversations, his advocacy has brought him into dialogue with students, community organizations, policymakers, and law enforcement. That experience continues to inform JFG’s approach to stories about people and the systems that shape their lives.
